Imane FOUITEH is a PhD candidate at the Institute of Environmental Sciences at the University of Geneva.
Her research examines how energy policy is translated into practice by the actors responsible for implementing it. Focusing on two key players in the Swiss energy ecosystem-utilities and energy auditors. She investigates what shapes their commitment to promoting energy efficiency and the emerging field of energy sufficiency.
Drawing on five years of close collaboration with a utility‑driven energy efficiency programme, her work combines surveys, programme data, and interviews to understand why actors in formally similar positions often behave differently, and what these variations imply for programme design and policy development.
