Jack VAHNBERG is a PhD candidate in Urban Studies at Malmö University and a member of the ASSURE research school.
His research focuses on energy and housing inequality, and on how the distribution of resources intersects with sustainable practices. He situates his work within a heterodox and pluralist tradition of economic thought, drawing particularly on institutionalist approaches and the Capital as Power framework.
Methodologically, he primarily works with large‑scale, fine‑grained data on the Swedish building stock, its residents, and their energy use, complemented by qualitative methods. The explicit aim of his research is to introduce radical yet concrete policy perspectives into the political debate on sustainability.
