Marte PEETERS

Marte PEETERS is a second‑year PhD student in the Environmental Economics research group at the University of Antwerp.

As part of the DEER project (Demand‑side measures to Enhance well‑being and foster Environmental footprint Reduction), she studies the role of demand‑side measures in mitigating climate change. Her research focuses on consumption corridors, exploring how sufficient levels of human need fulfilment can be achieved while remaining within environmental limits.

Marte examines the relationships between consumption, well‑being, and greenhouse gas emissions, with particular attention to mobility in Flanders. By integrating environmental, social, economic, and policy perspectives, she aims to inform climate policies that are both effective and socially just.
