Wies DIJKSTRA is a PhD student at the Social‑Ecological Systems Institute at Leuphana University Lüneburg.
She works on the MaSES project (Mainstreaming Social‑Ecological Sufficiency), which integrates research on environmental limits (ecological sufficiency) with desirable levels of consumption (social sufficiency) for German households. Within MaSES, Wies investigates the feasibility of different strategies for closing the gap between social and ecological notions of sufficiency under varying socio‑economic assumptions and scenarios.With an explicit focus on questions of normativity and justice, she aims to produce transformative knowledge that can help households understand the sustainability of their economic activities.
